The Washington Redskins’ move on Tuesday included putting guard Randy Thomas on injured reserve and signing running back Anthony Alridge from the Houston Texans’ practice squad, thus, on their 53-man roster, there have been five running backs by so far.

Thomas tore his right triceps in Sunday’s win over the St. Louis Rams, and it was reported that the injury may be season-ending. According to Coach Jim Zorn, the veteran right guard has a complete tear of the right triceps off the bone in the first half of Sunday’s game. And the Redskins will have to choose from Will Montgomery and Chad Rinehart to start at right guard next week against the Detroit Lions.

Alridge was signed as an undrafted free agent from the University of Houston. He spent last season in denver broncos jersey on the Broncos’ injured reserve list for a foot injury. Fortunately his status in this season has been stable and spent training camp with the Redskins, rushing 10 times for 46 yards in two preseason games.
